Christmas Eve 2010 - Private Tour for Colleagues of Exhibition

It's an ordinary day at work. The encouraging entourage made the difference. No students, just a half-day of expectations of Christmas' programmes to come. Little gifts warmed the office. Friends graced the "Snowing Ceremony." The exhibits were introduced and explained on levels two and nine. It lasted less than an hour but friends made the difference.

It's Snowing in Penguin Winter Wonderland!

A Heartwarming Lunch for the Senior Citizens

13 December, St Luke's Day Care Centre, Tampines. About 100 old folks, 8 Christian educators. Heartwarming session of songs, Christmas message, activity, lunch.

THE AIR_DRY CLAY EXHIBITION IS READY!

What keeps you awake at night? Well, what keeps me awake at night is seeing my dream realised in the form of an air-dry clay solo exhibition in the library of my very own campus. On top of that, i have the space to do the exhibit which was swimming in my mind for a very long time. i am of course talking about the fight in the bamboo forest with Shifu in the foreground, with some pictures in the post before this.

I need to submit the writeup and once done, the exhibition will run till Feb 2011 or even March, we'll see.

A preview

A DREAM COME TRUE!

I have ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to do a particular display the way i wanted - and i had my dream fulfilled. It was such an experience putting up this display. It took me four to solid hours on the 9th floor of my school library to create this joy.

Picture this: A scene from a bamboo forest. Ninjas appear suddenly as if from nowhere and they leap and fly in the air, light as a feather, swift as a bird; in a menacing way, displaying their weapons. The Grandmaster, Shifu, well-aware of what's happening, stands still.

This is the scene. I will upload the video once the exhibition is ready.

Creative Clay Classes and Parties

Would you like to do something handmade for your loved ones and friends, instead of the commercialised products which you can get all over the place? Something unique and something which the receiver will keep for a long time?
Try making clay figurines and other projects yourself!

Clay Parties : Instead of the same old party games, why not have the whole group do something with their hands? The party boy or girl will love it that everyone is doing something for him or her and also get to bring some projects home.

Spend a hour or so doing something therapeutic. Enquire about group lessons and Clay Parties.

Year-end Company functions? Do something in appreciation for each other at the workplace! Heartwarming, isn't it?

Enquire about it today!

Have you done the conventional teambuilding programmes? I am doing an intensive course on HRD and Change Management, that's why.
The test is coming soon so i am hitting the books. Next week, i will be back online!
Good things are worth waiting for yes?

The season to mourn

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance...

Singapore has seen the passing of two human beings who have contributed greatly to our society - Dr Balaji and Madam Kwa Geok Choo. The clay creation here was done just this evening and it reminds me of seedlings after the emotional devastation...

MOONCAKES THAT BREAK TRADITIONS

Keep traditions or break them? - Ah, i will not go into this argument but for mooncakes - variety is indeed the spice of life. How many traditional single yolk or double yolk mooncakes with the traditional brown oven-baked skin can you eat? But transform that into different flavours and you could be eating the entire night or afternoon high teas even. In small portions, lah! We have wine-pairing and coffee-tasting. Has anyone invented mooncake tasting high tea yet?

Just in case you are wondering, the maniature fruits are made using Jumping Clay.
The fruits are popular fruits in this part of the world. Mangoes, strawberries, papayas, bananas and mangosteens.

E.T. Looks Back In Space and Time

OK. Those who watched E.T. and knows who is E.T. are probably born before 1982, right? That includes me of course.

Did you know?
1. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is a 1982 American science fiction film co-produced and directed by Steven Spielberg.

2. It was written by Melissa Mathison and she was the wife of Harrison Ford.

3. It starred Henry Thomas, Robert MacNaughton, Drew Barrymore, and Dee Wallace and of course the child actor and actress shot to fame as they grew up.

4. It tells the story of Elliott (played by Thomas), a lonely boy who befriends a friendly extraterrestrial, dubbed "E.T.", who is stranded on Earth. Elliott and his siblings help the extraterrestrial return home while attempting to keep it hidden from their mother and the government.
