THE WORLD OF CHINESE KUNG FU (4)

The last of the four legendary martial arts heroes is the rather vertically challenged hero, Man Fook. He took up his weapon of choice, the Nunchaku, made famous by Bruce Lee, when he was only seven. He had said, rather shyly, that the nunchaku made up for his height deficiency, for it can deftly hit its target who is double the height of the lethal weapon.

See the legendary User of the Nunchaku in action:

THE WORLD OF CHINESE KUNG FU (1)

Against the backdrop of the simple abode of a chinese pugilist is FOK YAT, a hardworking farmer turned KUNG FU master. His well-known lightning moves, particularly the lightning stick, is well-known in Guangzhou. A little-known fact is that his great descendant FOK YUEN actually trained the imperial police in the use of the blistering baton, who then used it against the rebels in the Boxer Uprising.

See him in his various poses on his beloved cool bamboo chair.

The biggest project in my collection was the white horse - it is now black. (black spray paint, then transparent laquer) I think i like it black.

How about you? Your opinions are welcome.

Ranger kills Snake

I didn't do ranger; as in he's not made of clay, and i didn't create him. However, this snake is made in about 3 minutes and it's one of those 'flash' moments where idea and context fit in just so nicely. The whole setting in the birdcage and all is an installation piece which is personal to me. It also has spiritual significance - The Devil has been defeated!!!

The snake is the flesh and the old man. The old man fights against the Spirit...But like i said, the Devil has been defeated! And no one who comes against the mark of the Cross will prosper!
