The Meeting of The Two Masters

"Master shifu, troubled, I am troubled...:
"Honourable Jedi Master, What brings you here from such faraway land; a land of no night and day? Come let's go into my study and talk"

And so the two Masters talked deep into the night...(click on the video to see how long they talked)
"So, Master Yoda, After the long chat with you, i finally understand your concerns.Don't worry - there's a Chinese saying: "船到桥头自然直", meaning that 'when the boat reaches the bridge, the bridge will straighten up by itself."
"Master shifu, for your advice thank you so much. Been valuable, it has".
"Master Yoda, you are welcome anytime".
"Master Shifu, take my leave, I must. Till we meet again, with you may the force be!"
"Yes, Master Yoda, may the force be with you! You need it!"

The Two Masters Meet !!!

Master Shifu was practising Kung Fu in his chambers when someone unexpected came a calling. Through the bamboo screen, the visitor saw the stately figure of the Master in a serene and graceful, fliud state. Despite his age and limping on his left leg, which Tai Lung broke in their first battle, the visitor has heard that Shifu can move faster than any opponent. He is so strong and powerful that one or even all of the Furious Five combined cannot make him break a sweat. Master Shifu put away his bamboo stick, well worn by time and practice. He gracefully proceeded to the door where the privacy screen is to welcome the unexpected guest." Ahh..what a surprise, JEDI Master YODA!"
"Master shifu, greatly honoured to meet you, am I! Yeesssssss". The pleasant-natured green guest waved his walking stick in the air as he looked up. Master Yoda is slightly shorter than Shifu.
"Master Yoda, welcome to my humble abode. Let's go inside."

Meet MASTER SHIFU !

Good. When you have been trained, you may eat.

Master Shifu is the student of Oogway and the trainer of the greatest warriors in China, the Furious Five. He enjoys playing his bamboo flute and is also able to use it as a striking and throwing weapon.Despite his age and limping on his left leg, which Tai Lung broke in their first battle, Shifu can move faster than any opponent. He is so strong and powerful that one or even all of the Furious Five combined cannot make him break a sweat.

Shifu's character is based on the animal called The Red Panda. The Red Panda, also called the Firefox or Lesser Panda (Latin name: Ailurus fulgens, "shining cat"), is a mostly herbivorous mammal, specialized as a bamboo feeder. It is slightly larger than a domestic cat (40 - 60 cm long, 3 - 6 kg weight). The Red Panda is endemic to the Himalayas in Bhutan, southern China, Pakistan, India, Laos, Nepal, and Burma. There is an estimated population of fewer than 2,500 mature individuals. Their population continues to decline due to habitat fragmentation.

Pretty Pallavi's Party !!!

Pretty Pallavi turns ten! This is a Private Party with a difference! The party people had plenty of fun with Air-Dry Clay.
Pallavi provided the party with pizzas, red jelly, cakes and a fantastic time! These creative young bunch had a great time kneading, creating and jibing one another with witty lines and simultaneously having fun with their hands doing project after project. Sucha different party from the usual parties. This is a CREATIVE party! Of course, thanks to Shanti, who organised this fun and unique celebration!

Feedback from Shanti: "Thank you so much! It was indeed a different and fun time the children had. I am sure others would want to know more about you and have a similar one for their children. Thanks for the pictures, they are lovely!"

Why Does the World Love Susan Boyle?

Susan Boyle's Youtube video of her performance just registered 19,698,676 hits as i am writing. She was jeered, as we remember, but 6 seconds into the song, her dream came true and the audience gave her the due respect - another ugly duckling being transformed. Of course, if anyone follows Britain's Got Talent, one would remember Paul Potts and even before that, then 6-year-old Connie Talbot.

All these success stories fuelled votes for the participants and provided fodder for parents, teachers, corporate trainers and those in the business of providing instant jabs in the arms of the world who is hungry for inspiration and for some sunshine in this gloomy global scenario.

Why is the world hankering for such personalities? Here's my perspective:

1. It's the classic ugly-duckling-to-beautiful-swan story. Happy ending we all love. Especially during a bleak, pessimistic, belt-tightening economic crisis.

2. It's the Slumdog story, reprised: A church-worker; a car-handphone salesman, and the likes - didn't have the good looks but have substance and content. A treasure found; the world rejoices.

3. The world needs success stories now. Period.
